Method

  1. 1Roast besan in 1 tbsp oil till toasted-tasting.
  2. 2Heat remaining oil, crackle cumin-mustard, curry leaves, dry chillies.
  3. 3Add tomato puree + turmeric + chilli; cook 5 min.
  4. 4Beat besan with 4 cups water, pour in; bring to gently bubble.
  5. 5Add potato + drumstick first (longer cook), then okra and gawar.
  6. 6Tamarind + salt; gently bubble till shiny. Serve ladled over rice.
