Method

  1. 1Beat besan, water, turmeric, ajwain, salt into a thin batter.
  2. 2Stir in onion, tomato, chilli and coriander.
  3. 3Heat a tawa, drizzle a few drops of oil.
  4. 4Dip bread slices in batter coating both sides.
  5. 5Place on tawa, cook 90 seconds per side till deeply golden.
  6. 6Dust chaat masala; serve hot with green chutney — Mumbai breakfast in 12 minutes.
